Neera is currently based in her hometown Sydney after almost two years of conducting workshops, retreats and trainings throughout Europe.
Neera was drawn to spirituality at an early age and studied astrology, Vipassana meditation and various Eastern teachings before discovering yoga at the age of 19. In 1996, whilst an Ashtanga Yoga apprentice, Neera was drawn to India to find her guru in Jnana Yoga Master Sri HWL Poonja (Papaji). Papaji, a direct disciple of Ramana Maharshi, gave Neera her name. She was fortunate to attend his Satsang until he passed away in September 1997.
Since then Neera has taught a diverse range of students in Australia and abroad. She has extensive experience on Teacher Trainings, including with Lance Schuler (Inspya Yoga), with whom she worked closely for many years. Neera is recognised as a senior teacher (EYRT500) and Director of Teacher Training by Yoga Alliance, and is also a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She is also a published writer of poetry and film critique, and mother of two children born at home.
Continually fascinated by yoga’s deeper dimensions, Neera encourages the practice to be a mirror for self-reflection, and an open-ended enquiry into ‘what is’.
