Course Goals..

To make you a confident teacher: Prepare students to build and conduct a class from sequencing to adjustments to class environment to communication. For this you will study teaching methodology and spend time teaching each others from day 1.

• To transcend your limits through new practices and discover a bit more of yourself. For this we will practice meditation and other eye opening practices like silence and fasting.

• Expand your knowledge, practice and understanding of the Yoga tradition to serve you both as a practitioner and as a teacher, and allow you to inspire others. We will study History and philosophy of Yoga, Anatomy, Hatha Yoga and the subtle body, Nutrition, Traditional Thai Massage and more.

Topics..

80h of practice, 30h of anatomy, 30h of history and philosophy,
40h of methodology, 50h or practicum (teaching)
70h of additional practices in Traditional Thai massage, Ayurveda and Holistic Nutrition among others
• Practice includes Asana, Pranayama, Shatkarma, Meditation, Mantra and more

Requirements..

• English - all classes will be conducted in English, requiring a basic level of English speaking, reading and writing

• We accept student only after careful study of their application form, all criteria are important. Please reply carefully and honestly to all questions and we will contact you for additional information if needed. This may include phone/skype interview or supporting reference from current teacher(s).

For a program adapted to the need of each student we are offering several options

Option A: Foundation course

  • 200h, 4 weeks or 350h, 6 weeks

Option A: Prerequisite: 6 month minimum experience, is for:

  • Motivated, determinded students who want to deepen their practice and understanding
  • Intermediate/advanced yoga students who are not interested in teaching

You receive:

  • Tools to become independent and establish a meaningful practice.
  • A careful review of your physical and mental current situation, evaluation of your constitution both physical (dosha) and mental (guna)
  • Guidance to make your self assessment in your asana, pranayama and meditation practice, nutritional habits analysis,
  • Projection tools to obtain a potential desired future
  • Theoretical background that we will provide during the lectures
  • Methodological sessions during which you will establish your routine
  • Practice to familiarize with techniques

Requirements for Certification:

  • Homework and study time
  • Keeping of a journal and the redaction of a 2.500 word essay (to be submitted one month after completion of the training compulsory for certification).
  • Level 1 Yoga Alliance RYT 200
  • 200h, 4 weeks or 350h, 6 weeks

Option B: Prerequisite: 2 year minimum experience, is for:

  • Experienced Students
  • Serious students who want to become a Certified Yoga Teacher, but do not intend to make this your main activity

Based on an established understanding of your own practice (see option 1) you receive:

  • Tools to help students in their assessments, to make safe adjustments and recommendations.
  • Deeper insight into the history, philosophy and literature of the yoga tradition
  • Methodology on how to communicate and exchange with students to make a correct evaluation and offer constructive support
  • Practice to deepen your awareness of the techniques

Requirements for Certification:

  • Homework and study time
  • Keeping of a journal and the redaction of a 2.500 word essay (to be submitted one month after completion of the training compulsory for certification)
  • If you choose to attend only for 200h-4 weeks, you will be required to perform 100h of homework and provide feed-back in the 6 month after completion of the training.

Option C: Teacher Training Course   
Inspire others

Option D: Teacher Training Course
The Light keeper
  • Level 1 Yoga Alliance RYT 200 and half way through Level II RYT 500 and also Level I of YTAA (Yoga Teacher Association of Australia), a more serious reference.
  • 350h, 6 weeks and 12 month mentorship (see under for details)

Option C is for

  • Students ready to become certified yoga teacher
  • Serious students ready to make a change for a deeper exploration of yoga
  • 2 year minimum practice

Based on an established understanding of your own practice you receive: same as option B + mentorship

  • Tools to help others in their assessments and make safe adjustments and recommendations.
  • Deeper insight into the history, philosophy and literature of the yoga tradition
  • Methodology on how to communicate and exchange with students to make a correct evaluation and offer constructive support
  • Practices to deepen your awareness of the techniques
  • An interactive and evolutive feedback (see mentorship)
  • Tools to adapt your learning over time and make a better assimilation for the large quantity of information delivered during the training.

Requirements for Certification:

  • Homework and study time
  • Keeping of a journal and the redaction of a 2.500 word essay (to be submitted one month after completion of the training compulsory for certification)
  • Level 2 Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (limited places)
  • 300h, 6 weeks and 12 month mentorship (see under for details)

Option D is for

  • Teachers looking for support and structure to assist them progress on their journey
  • Serious teachers ready to take the next step level II of Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (limited places)

Prerequisite:

  • Current Certified Yoga Teachers: Yoga Alliance 200H certificate from a registered school for those already teaching who wish to attain further Yoga Alliance accreditation. (Scanned Copy of certificate to be sent).
  • Teaching Experience
  • Interview with the program director

Your requirements/involvements for Certification level II:

  • Work with the teacher team & provide support to the RYT 200 students
  • Prepare and deliver some practical and theoretical classes
  • Receive extra time dedicated to Q&A, practicum, reviews and one on one meeting with the teachers
  • Do homework and study time
  • Keeping a journal and the redaction of a 5,000 word essay (to be submitted one month after completion of the training; compulsory for certification)

This is a "tailor made program" for only very limited number of student. Additional lectures, practices, methodology will be given after individual assessment made of each selected candidates.

Determination of the required experience for becoming a certified teacher is a complex subject. You should start by explaining in details what has been your practice so far (how many hours in the last 2 years and content of your practice) and what is your intention as a Yoga Teacher.

Ideally a serious student should have mastered:

  • A daily practice,
  • The capacity to sit still for 30 minutes and have had experienced of meditation,
  • She/he should be proficient in the main asana,
  • Know their sanskrit name,
  • Have a good understanding of pranayama technique including control of bandha,
  • She/he should have prior exposition to classical literature (Patanjali Yoga Sutra, Bhagavad Gita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika etc),
  • Have master a level of emotional maturity enabling her/him to remain equanimous during the challenging phases of the training,
  • Full attendance and active participation is expected, and the evaluation will include attitude during the course in addition to theoretical and practical assessment

Mentorship Option C & D
The 12 month mentorship program will be elaborated specifically with the concerned student but on average a student is expected to invest (and justify ie. keep a journal) a minimum of 500 h of practice in the year following the training.

During 12 months, this time can be used to:

  • Give free classes,
  • Self-practice
  • Taking classes, workshops, retreats, for the study of classical literature,
  • Writing yoga articles,
  • Making a report and receiving feedback every two month. Feed back can also be given when required on specific subjects related to your practice or teaching, mostly through email, optionally through phone or skype.

The cost of this option for a year is of 300 Euro included in above prices (12 hours of personal attention) or 600 Euro for 24h and monthly feed back).
